Sapphire Tapered Rods

Standard sapphire cylindrical rod with a conical / tapered end. The tapered surface is a conical or a flat tapered. It can be polished or ground.


Vanrun OE provides a variety of customized precise tapered sapphire rods. There are following types:

All surfaces polished sapphire rod

Only two ends polished sapphire rod

Conical tapered rod

Flat tapered rod

Common specifications of sapphire tapered rods: (conical, cone rod)

Material:

CZ, KY, HEM monocrystal sapphire, C-cut or random 

Diameter Range:

Dia. 5mm to 20mm

Diameter Tolerance:

+/-0.02mm, +/-0.05mm

Length Range:

10mm to 100mm

Length Tolerance:

+/-0.05mm, +/-0.1mm

Tapered Diameter:tapered small end from 0.5mm up to the diameter of rod, tolerance +/-0.1mm
Tapered Length:30% to 90% of the length of rods, tolerance +/-0.2mm, customized

Surface Quality:

20-10, 40-20, 60-40 (MIL13830) for polished ends, 60-40, 80-50 for polished cylindrical surface

Surface Accuracy:

up to 1/4 lambda @633nm for two ends

Chamfer:

protective, 0.2 to 0.5x45 Degree, ground or polished

Coating:

no coating or AR coating of end surface
